Create a new dessert tradition with hot sauce ice cream.
Yes, you read that right. Hot sauce ice cream. If you want to be
more this season, this is the dessert for you. It's actually
pretty delicious. It tickles all the taste buds—it's creamy, sweet
and a little bit spicy. Plus! It's made with avocado and garnished
with strawberry syrup so it'll go great with all those red and
green decorations.
What you’ll need
18 oz
simple syrup
16 oz
half & half
1
avocado
1 bottle
True Mild Sauce
1
flour tortilla (10-inch)
1 tbsp
cinnamon sugar
1
strawberry, diced
1
jalapeño, diced
How to make it
In a mixing bowl, combine 12 ounces of simple syrup, 16 ounces of
half & half and 3/4 of the bottle of
True Mild Sauce. Peel avocado,
remove pit and blend together with the True Mild Sauce / cream
mixture until smooth. Freeze until solid.
Fry up the tortilla in a wee bit of butter and dust with cinnamon
sugar. Add remaining simple syrup and
True Mild Sauce on medium heat to
a small sauce pan. Turn on medium heat and reduce the mixture by
about half.
Put diced strawbery and jalapeño in a mason jar or bowl, and pour
the reduced simple syrup /
True Mild Sauce over them. Place
it in the fridge to macerate (i.e. extract the juices from the
jalapeño and strawberries) for about an hour, then strain.
Put your avocado True Mild Sauce
ice cream in a festive bowl and drizzle the spicy/sweet syrup over
it. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
